English is a Flow

序論 ― 英語は「規則」でなく「流れ」だ。なぜ日本式だと口が止まるのか。この本は、やさしい英語から始めて、読むほど日本語の足場が外れていく。まず一段目を、声に出しながら。

You studied English for many years. But you cannot speak it. This is not your fault.

In Japan, we read English. We change it to Japanese in our head. We build a "correct" sentence. Then we are afraid of mistakes. So our mouth stops.

English is a flow

English is not a list of rules. English is a flow.

When a native speaker talks, the head moves like a river. They see a thing. A word comes out. The next word follows. They do not stop and think.

This book is different

We will not memorize rules. We will follow the flow. And we will move our mouth.

It starts easy. The English grows slowly. The Japanese help goes away. At the end, you will read hard English with no Japanese.

On that day, you will know one thing. The flow is yours now.
